Good Morning Onsted Middle School, Today is Monday , October 11th
It was a great day for the 7th and 8th grade girls volleyball team! They traveled to the Michigan Center tournament to get some wins under their belt. The 7th grade brought home 2nd place! They defeated Vandercook Lake 23-21 & 21-18, Grass Lake 21-14 & 21-17, East Jackson 21-19 & 21-7, Split with Michigan Center 18-21 & 21-18, fell to Manchester 4-21 & 14-21. Ending the day with a 7-3 record! Top Servers for the day were Avery Hively with 24 points, Kayla Gerken with 23 points, Aubrie Schonfeld with 15 points, and Ruby Helinski with 14 points. All the girls played great today and we are super proud of them!
The 8th grade Volleyball Team had a successful day placing 3rd overall with a match record of 2-2-1. The first match they defeated Vandercook Lake 21-11 & 21-14. The second was against Grass Lake with the Warriors coming out ahead 19-21 & 16-21. In the 3rd match they took on East Jackson and split 19-21 & 21-11. Match #4 was against Michigan Center with the best point spread of the day 21-7 & 21-5. They closed out the day against the leading team Manchester with both teams being close, and the Dutchman pulling the win 17-21 & 18-21.
Scoring leaders on the day were Sydney Keefe with 27 pts, Hannah Hill 26 pts, Lily Chamberlain and Karlie Kimerer each scoring 25 pts. Also scoring were Ava Kurowski, McKenna Szul, Megan Hunt, & Alexis Edwards. Great job ladies!!
The cats will be back in action on Today at home against Ida.
It was a fantastic morning for the Onsted MS Cross Country team, as they beat personal and seasonal bests!
The Onsted Girls finished in 10th place out of 22 teams. Raegan Brosamer set a new seasonal best time in 23rd place out of 243 girl runners, while Izzy Raglow and Emma Grulke broke personal bests as all three medaled in the Top 60. New personal records were also set by Jaelyn Gwinner, Mattie Hallenbeck, Emma Dupuie, Alana Ramsey, and Payton Edwards.
For the Onsted Boys, they finished 17th out of 22 teams. Zack Taylor medaled in 49th place out of 260 boy runners, with Nicklas Holmes just finishing outside the top 60 as both beat personal bests!
Jonah McKelvey, Joel Sniegowski, Jack Tessier, and Justus Cunningham also established new personal best times.
Great job Wildcats It's great to be announcing the amazing job all of our athletes are doing!!
