 Good Morning Onsted Middle School, Today is Thursday, September 30.

The 7th grade FB team traveled to Hudson and brought home the victory, 18-6 on the scoreboard.  A very good game was played by all. Lucas Arnold scored on a kickoff return. Connor Kish scored on two TD passes and a 2 pt conversion pass from Arnold. Other scoring was a touchdown by Landon Johnson and a 2 point conversion by Aiden Schmidt.

The 8th grade team also brought home the victory against Hudson, 28-8 on the scoreboard. Again, a great game was played by all. Scoring for the 8th grade was: Cole Wells had 1 touchdown and two, 2-point conversion passes to Hunter Kangas and Bryson Sutherland. Austin Moore scored a 2-point conversion. Cole Ruttkofsky had a huge night scoring 6 touchdowns and one 2-point conversion. The teams are now 4-0 on the season and will host Ida next Wednesday.

The Middle School VB team had a great performances last night. They lost 1st set 25-23. 2nd set we had a winner winner chicken dinner! z3rd set they fell short 25-22

IMPORTANT DANCE INFORMATION:

 $5 to get in and right after school 3-5. Leave your belongings in your locker. You only need your $5 and you can have your phone as long as you are being appropriate while using it.

-no late entry-if you leave the building you can not get back in.

-FOR SAFETY REASONS: you must stay in the gym and/or cafeteria...!  ****not on stage, locker rooms or balcony**** 

-All food needs to stay in the cafeteria.

-around 5pm we will let you into the hallway to get your items from your lockers and you can be picked up out front or in the parking lot behind the gym.

**********TONIGHT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR PLAN SET ON WHO IS PICKING YOU UP BY 5*************

We want to keep having dances so be respectful to the DJ, parents and staff while attending the dance or you will not be allowed to attend any more.

Next week is Homecoming Spirit week!

Now through Oct. 10th, bring in your donations of gently used books to Mrs. Smelser for the middle school in Tennessee. What a way to show your care and concern for others!

Good Morning Onsted Middle School, Today is Tuesday, September 28.

Student council meeting tomorrow Wednesday, September 29 during 6th period!

The book fair will run from October 18-22.  You will visit the Media Center with your ELA classes for preview days, and for purchases.  Save the dates, and listen for competitions, and drawings over the announcements.

If you have lost a piece of jewelry, I have had many items turned into me in the last couple weeks. Stop in to see if it has been turned in.

Next week is Homecoming! To start off the spirit, we will allow school appropriate PJ's on Monday...If you have any questions about what is school appropriate, ask before you arrive.

Do you have any used books at home that another middle school student might enjoy reading? We are collecting new and gently used books to help a middle school in Tennessee that was destroyed by flash flooding last month. If you would like to donate books or money to purchase books, please bring your donations to Mrs. Smelser’s room, now through Oct. 10th.

 Good Morning Onsted Middle School, Today is Monday, September 27.

There will be a Student council meeting this Wednesday, September 29 during 6th period!

It's that time of year......Please join Mrs. Permoda at the

FALL FESTIVAL OF BOOKS, BOOK FAIR !!!!! 

The book fair will run from October 18-22.  You will visit the Media Center with your ELA classes for preview days, and for purchases.  Save the dates, and listen for competitions, and drawings over the announcements.

Last Friday, the Onsted MS XCountry team raced hard against some of the best runners in Michigan at Ella Sharpe Park.

The Onsted Girls finished in 11th place out of 19 teams. For the Girls, Raegan Brosamer finished in 24th place. Izzy Raglow finished with a new personal best time and finished in the top 50, while Emma Grulke and Jaelyn Gwinner rounded out in the top 100 girls out of a strong 250 runners.

The Onsted Boys finished in 16th out of 19 teams. Personal bests from Zack Taylor in 47th place and Chris Durfey in 55th place, and Jack Tessier broke his personal best to finish off a great day!

Others that performed well were Brennen Wonders, Joel Sniegowski, Chloe Gemalsky, and Emma Dupuie.

Great job Wildcats!

The next race is next Wednesday at Gerber Park in Blissfield.

Good Morning Onsted Middle School, Today is Friday, September 24.

Today the middle school cross country team will be dismissed at approximately at 1:30 to travel to Ella Sharp Park in Jackson for their meet. 

Reminder, the welcome back dance is October 1: Only students with good behavior will be allowed to attend. Hours for the dance are 3-5. Tickets cost $5 per person and they will be sold at the door.

There will be a Student council meeting Next Wednesday, September 29 during 6th period!

Daily Announcements Thursday, September 23, 2021

 Good Morning Onsted Middle School, Today is Thursday, September 23.

Great support from the Onsted Middle School Cheerleading team that helped cheer the combined 7/8 grade FB team went to Hillsdale and came home with a victory, 20-0 on the scoreboard. Touchdowns were scored by Austin Moore, Mason Chesser and Cole Ruttkofsky. 2 point conversions were scored by Bryce Adams, Bryson Sutherland, Landon Johnson and Austin Moore. The team is now 2-0 on the season and will play at Hudson next Wednesday. 

Yesterday the 8th grade Volleyball Team traveled to Ida to face the Bluestreaks.
In set one the cats held some ground for a period of time but Ida was tough, and took the set 25-14. Sets two & three were more of the same, and although we had some good serves and plays, Ida's serving & attacking was too much to handle, overpowering our team 25-6 & 25-11.

Scoring leaders included Karlie Kimerer, Megan Hunt, & McKenna Szul.  The cats play again next Wednesday at home.

Don't forget to join the Middle School XC team as they are running at the Onsted Park

Welcome Back Dance! The 1st Dance of the school year will be after school on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 3-5PM in the middle school gym and cafeteria.

Tickets will be sold at the door for $5!

Light refreshments will be served. You can dress up or wear casual clothes but school dress code rules will be enforced. Your parents will need to pick you up at 5. and you are not allowed to leave the dance and come back.

Only those with Good behavior will be allowed to attend.

 Good Morning Onsted Middle School, Today is Tuesday September 21

Wednesday is National "See you at the pole" day. Students across the country will be praying around their flagpoles before school tomorrow. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be leading a short prayer at 7:45 out by our flagpole tomorrow. The flagpole is located in front by the office entrance. This is open to all students interested. 

The 8th grade Volleyball Team had their first match of the season at home against Columbia Central.  The Ladycats put forth a great effort & were able to take one of three sets in the loss.  Scores were:

Onsted 20 - Columbia 25

Onsted 13 - Columbia 25

Onsted  25 - Columbia 16

Top servers for the cats were Sydney Keefe with 9pts & Hannah Hill with 8pts.  Others scoring on the night were Megan Hunt,  Alexis Edwards, Ava Kurowski, Lily Chamberlain, McKenna Szul, and Karlie Kimerer. Great effort tonight girls!

On Wednesday, the team travels to Ida to take on the Bluestreaks.

Good Morning Onsted Middle School, Today is Thursday, September 16

Today is Picture Day! All students will need to get their picture taken for yearbook. EVEN if you did not order pictures online   or have your money with you today.

STAFF: Please make sure your classroom phone is working as we will be calling to dismiss you for your picture time. The company is set up in the band room!

Last night the combined 7th and 8th grade football team played well together and defeated the Columbia Central 8th grade team 10-0 on the scoreboard. Lucas Arnold threw the first touchdown pass to Cole Ruttkofsky and Cole Wells scored the 2 point conversion. Bryce Adams scored the second touchdown on a nice run and Austin Moore scored the 2 point conversion. Cole Ruttkofsky scored again on a nice inside trap run and Cole Wells finished the scoring with the 2 point conversion. The team will travel to Hillsdale to take on the Hornets next Wednesday.

Today is the day for FCA!!! Come to the meetings during your lunch for 7th and 8 graders.

7th graders will meet in Mr. Aiken’s classroom, 8th graders will meet in Mr. Thompson’s classroom.

The Onsted MS XCountry team ran under gloomy skies and fought hard through the humid weather at Hudson.

The Top 5 Onsted Boys finishers include Zack Taylor, Nicklas Holmes, Brendan Holmes, Jonah McKelvey, and Jack Tessier.

The Top 5 Onsted Girls finishers include Raegan Brosamer, Emma Grulke, Mattie Hallenbeck, Chloe Gemalsky, and Jaelyn Gwinner.

Next meet is our home meet on 9/22 at the Onsted Park! LET'S GO CATS!!!
