  Good Morning Onsted Middle School, Today is Wednesday, October 27th

Today is the Wildcat Band Performance. 
The Halloween excitement program will feature the 2021 pregame and halftime shows, including the music of Journey.  
6th grade band members are to report at 6:40 pm.
7th and 8th grade band should arrive by 6:15.
ALL MS BAND MEMBERS are to report directly to the Gym at their report time. 

During Advisory, Mrs. Mykeloff is asking the 7th and 8th grade band members to report to the Band Room.

Big Shout Out to Mrs. Hubbard and her Varsity VolleyBall Team getting 2nd place in the LCAA.

Daily Announcements Tuesday, October 26, 2021

 Good Morning Onsted Middle School, Today is Tuesday, October 26th

On Wednesday, October 27th, the Wildcat Marching Band along with the 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands will present their first concert of the year at 7pm in the High School Gym.  All Onsted Band performances are free and open to the public but donations will be taken at the door to offset the cost of the special effects used for this concert. The program will feature the 2021 halftime and pregame shows including the music of Journey.  The show will also include Halloween themed selections from the 7th and 8th grade band as well as some creative costuming from all of our middle school bands.  The entire program should last about 40 minutes and performers are required to stay until the end of the performance. 6th grade band members are to report at 6:40 pm and 7th and 8th grade band should arrive by 6:15 for a final rehearsal before the concert. ALL MS BAND MEMBERS are to report directly to the Gym at their report time. Staff and students, please join us for an exciting night of some wonderful music by the Onsted Bands! Hope to see you there!

Daily Announcements Monday, October 25, 2021

 Good Morning Onsted Middle School, Today is Monday, October 25th

The Onsted MS XCountry team ran the last meet of the season at the MS Regionals at Hudson.
For the Girls, they finished in 9th place among 26 teams and 166 girls! Onsted Girl's Raegan Brosamer (24th place), Izzy Raglow (34th place), Alana Ramsey (73rd place), and Jaelyn Gwinner (92nd place) all finished with new personal bests! Mattie Hallenbeck in 99th and Chloe Gemalsky in 120th.
Boys finished 18th out of 27 teams! The Top 3 Onsted Boy's finishers that broke personal bests were Zack Taylor in 54th place, Nicklas Holmes in 100th place, and Jonah McKelvey in 127th place. Those that also broke personal bests were Brendan Holmes, Sawyer Murphy, Tristan Engler, and Joel Sniegowski.
Thank you kiddos for all your hard work and perseverance this season! You are all incredible!😊

The 8th grade Volleyball Team traveled to Dundee for the LCAA Tourney to conclude their 2021 season. The first match against a tough Ida team was dropped in two sets. The second against Hudson was better with a win in all 3 sets. The final match was against Blissfield with close scores, and in the 3rd set the cats fell short to the Royals. Scoring leaders of the day were Hannah Hill, Karlie Kimerer, & Lily Chamberlain. Also scoring were McKenna Szul, Ava Kurowski, & Megan Hunt. Great contributions by all!

7th and 8th grade Basketball tryouts are cancelled for today and will happen tomorrow! Make sure you have arrangements after school.

Picture retake is this Thursday. Also this week are Conferences: Thursday and Friday both being half days!

There was a key found in the hallway. If it is yours come to the office to claim! Also the lost and found is piling up. lots of binders, trapper keepers, water bottles and sweatshirts, take a look in the cafeteria!

 Good Morning Onsted Middle School, Today is Friday, October 22nd

Attention Student Council, today there is a meeting in Mr. Arnold's room during 6th period.

The Onsted MS XCountry team ran a Spooktacular course at Heritage Park in Hanover.
The Onsted Girls finished in 9th place among 12 strong teams. Both Raegan Brosamer, who finished 9th, and Izzy Raglow, who finished 19th, breaking their personal bests! Others who finished with new PR's were Alana Ramsey, Jaelyn Gwinner, and Chloe Gemalsky.
The Onsted Boys finished 11th out of 13 teams. Zack Taylor finished strong in 27th position, while Nicklas Holmes finished in 52nd place among a field of 159 runners! Personal bests were broken by Jonah McKelvey, Jack Tessier, Justus Cunningham, Tristan Engler, and Brennen Wonders.
The last meet of the season for the Wildcats will be at Hudson on Saturday!

Good Morning Onsted Middle School, Today is Thursday, October 21st

Attention Student Council, there will be a meeting Friday in Mr. Arnold's room during 6th period, please make arrangements with you teacher.

The MS FB team traveled to Blissfield for the last game of the season and brought home the victory 17-8 on the scoreboard.  A GREAT game was played by all, as the team started 22 different players and subbed freely all throughout the game. 
On the Offense, Cole Ruttkofsky scored 3 touchdowns, Cole Wells scored 1 touchdown, Austin Moore scored 1 touchdown and Connor Kish scored a 2 point conversion on a pass from Lucas Arnold. On the Defense, we had Hunter Kangas do an amazing 12 solo tackles!

The team finished the season 6-3 overall. The coaches enjoyed the hardwork and selfless play by all as this team truly played together as a TEAM all season long. GREAT JOB GUYS! 

The 8th grade Volleyball Team traveled to Blissfield last night and took 1 of 3 sets on the night. The Royals turned up the intensity, and despite a last set surge, the cats were not able to pull the match. Scoring leader of the night was Karlie Kimerer with 12 points. Also scoring were McKenna Szul, Sydney Keefe, Ava Kurowski, Lily Chamberlain, and Hannah Hill.

The 7th grade volleyball team started strong in the first set winning 25-15. In the second set the cats battled back and forth but lost 23-25. In the third set the girls struggled to get out of a deep gap in the score and lost 25-10. Scoring for the cats were Kayla Gerken, Aubrie Schonfeld, Lauren Terakedis, Hadley Ross, Annie Moore, Avery Hively, Ruby Helinski, and Olivia Lowe. Both teams travel to Dundee on Saturday for their last completion this season.

Attention MS XC runners and teachers. Due to the shortage of bus drivers the team will be dismissed today around 1:15 to get ready for their meet. The bus will be leaving at 1:30 We will make an announcement at that time.

 Good Morning Onsted Middle School, Today is Tuesday, October 19th

The 8th grade Volleyball Team traveled to Hudson Monday night to battle the Tigers. The Cats had a challenging time getting the offense going, and Hudson took advantage, resulting in the cats dropping the match 23-25, 20-25, & 19-25.  Contributing to the scoring were Hannah Hill, McKenna Szul, Karlie Kimerer, Lily Chamberlain, Ava Kurowski, Megan Hunt, Isabella Gibbs, & Sophie Kurowski. The 7th and 8th grade teams travel to Blissfield on Wednesday for their last regular match of the season.
