YIG members meet in Mr. Hoffman's room for Lunch!

The 8th grade Volleyball Team traveled to Dundee on Saturday to close out the season at the LCAA Tournament. In the first match against Columbia Central, sets one & two were split, but set three & the match went to Onsted. In the second match against Ida, the Ladycats took the opponents out in two, which earned a spot in the top bracket against an undefeated Clinton team. Both teams battled , but the opponents strong serving & floor play led them to a match win. This completed the day with a 2nd place finish, and bringing home the runner-up trophy! Great job ladies both today and on the season! Best of luck in future years!

The Onsted MS XCountry team traveled to Hudson under great weather to compete against 24 other teams for their last meet of the season!
The Onsted Boys finished in 10th place, with Nicklas Holmes, Wesley Garrison, and Garrett Smith finishing within 16 seconds of each other amongst 216 total runners. Jack Tessier and Alex Hunt filled out the rest of Onsted's Top 5 finishers, with Jack recording a new personal best time. Others who set new personal records were Xander Lewis, Joel Sniegowski, and John Pfeffer.
The Onsted Girls finished in 13th place, with Izzy Raglow leading the girls with a 39th place finish. Mattie Hallenbeck finished 49th and set a new personal best time. The rest of Onsted's Top 5 finishers among 169 runners were Alana Ramsey, Jaelyn Gwinner, and Chloe Gemalsky. For seasonal best times, Emily Durfey finished off her season by beating her time.
It was a great season for all our Onsted MS XCountry Runners! They worked hard and fought through every race and weather condition. Coach Hall is very proud of all of you and what you have accomplished this season! GO WILDCATS!!!

The 8th grade FB team finished their season with a 5-1 record, defeating a tough Blissfield team last night, 9-6. The offense played well in the 2nd half and the defense stopped the royals on multiple occasions.

to the entire team on a very good season!!


The 8th grade Volleyball Team had their last home competition of the season against Clinton Wednesday night. The team played tough, fought hard, and kept the scores close, but the undefeated Red Wolves took all 3 sets of the match 26-24, 25-22, and 25-20. Top servers on the night were Kayla Gerken & Annie Moore. The Ladycats will compete in the LCAA Tournament on Saturday in Dundee. Go Cats!


7th and 8th grade YIG Members are to report to Mr. Hoffman's classroom for Lunch.


Message from Coach Rivera: There will be a meeting for 7th grade boys basketball tryouts today during lunch at 12:30  in the gym for about 10 minutes.  


Items to discuss:


  1. Tryouts are from 10/24 - 10/26 in either Elementary or Middle School gym. That means it starts Monday!

  2. **Must have a physical to tryout**

  3. Skill, Drill Efficiency, Work Ethic, Conditioning, Classroom Commitment and Attitude will all be taken into consideration when the final roster is being completed.


Reminder: Lost and Found will be cleaned out at the end of this month! Yet items continue to be added to the lost and found! 

After the Pledge we need Connor Hickok to report to the office.

Middle School Students come out and support the 7/8 grade Volleyball teams and football teams on their last home games of the year! Volleyball will be playing at 5:00 against Clinton and Football kick-off will be at 5:00 against Blissfield.

7th/8th Grade Volleyball Teams played against Hudson last night. The 8th grade girls in set one was close with Hudson taking it by 2pts 25-23. Set two was more challenging and the tigers claimed that as well 25-15. The cats came back & took the 3rd set by the largest point span 25-12, but it was too late for the match, which went to Hudson this round. The 7th girls dropped the first two sets 15-25 and 13-25. They came back and won the last set 25-17. The girls play their last home game Wednesday against Clinton @5pm.

YIG members will meet in Mr. Hoffman's room at Lunch. Today will be Bill writing, bring your idea's!

Today is the 1st day of the Book Fair...Sucker Pull 50 cents!
Information from Coach Dan Scholz
There is a meeting for 8th-grade boys trying out for basketball on Monday, Oct. 17 during lunch at 12:30 in the gym for about 10 minutes.
Tryouts are from 10/24 - 10/26 in either Elementary or Middle School gym
Must have a physical on file to tryout.
Skill, potential, grades, and classroom behavior will all be factored in making the team.
The Onsted MS XCountry team competed in cold frigid air against the best teams in Lenawee County at Gerber Park.
The Onsted Boys finished in 4th place amongst 11 teams, with the top 5 Onsted runners finishing with medals. Nicklas Holmes, Garrett Smith, Wesley Garrison, Alex Hunt, and Jack Tessier all finished with medals in the top 30. Just outside the top 30 were Brendan Holmes in 37th and Chris Durfey in 41st out of an impressive 113 runners.
The Onsted Girls finished in 5th place, with Izzy Raglow, Alana Ramsey, and Mattie Hallenbeck finishing with medals. Just outside the top 30 were Jaelyn Gwinner in 39th, Chloe Gemalsky in 48th, Maggie Springer in 55th, and Ava Snyder in 63rd out of an amazing field of 83 super competitive runners.
Last meet of the season, the Middle School MHSAA Regional meet at Hudson against 21 teams next Saturday!

Happy School Spirit Day!

Mr. Aiken is selling old MS FB jersey's for $1 each. If you are interested, see him before school, or during breaks, this week. There are only a very few purple jersey's left. Most of them that remain are white. 

Attention 7th and 8th grade YIG members, the registration is up and running so if you have not registered please see MR. Hoffman to complete this.

The Onsted MS XCountry team battled high winds at the Sand Creek Invite to new personal best records!
The Onsted Boys ran hard today, finishing 2nd place out of 9 teams and receiving 6 individual medals. Elijah Huffman, Nicklas Holmes, Alex Hunt, and Garrett Smith all finished in the top 15 with new personal bests. Wesley Garrison finished 16th and just 5 seconds off from beating his personal best time to round out the top 5 Onsted finishers who all received medals. Jack Tessier also received a medal and finished in 24th place. Others who broke their personal best times were Xander Lewis, Joel Sniegowski, and Justus Cunningham.
The Onsted Girls ran with over half the team breaking their personal best records and finishing in 4th place with 4 individual medals. Izzy Raglow was just 4 seconds off from breaking her personal best with a 4th place finish and receiving a medal. Others who not only received medals but also set new personal bests were Alana Ramsey, Mattie Hallenbeck, Chloe Gemalsky, and Jaelyn Gwinner. Presley Holmes also set a new personal best record, shedding 15 seconds off her time.
Next up for the Onsted MS XCountry team is a meet at Gerber Park on Saturday morning. GO WILDCATS!

Happy BBQ Dad's vs Soccer Moms. Tomorrow is SCHOOL SPIRIT DAY

7th grade YIG MEMBERS report to Mr. Aiken's room for Lunch. 8th grade YIG MEMBERS report to Mr. Hoffman's room for lunch.

Attention 6 Grade students: Mrs. Wetherby's classroom is closed again today and need to report to room 106 today.

Invisalign found and turned into office yesterday.

The Volleyball Teams traveled to Hillsdale to take on the Hornets. The 8th grade Ladycats swept taking all 3 sets 25-12, 25-19, & 25-12. Scoring points were Annie Moore,  Kayla Gerken, Hadley Ross, Lauren Terakedis, Aubrie Schonfeld, Ella Ruttkofsky, & Avery Hively.  

The 7th grade volleyball team dropped the first set 19-25. They then rallied back and took the next two sets 25-7 and 26-24! The girls play at home on Monday against the Hudson Tigers. Go cats!

The 8th grade FB team defeated Clinton last night 16-3. The Cats struggled in the 1st and trailed at halftime 3-0. The team started the 2nd half with a long TD drive. Bryce Adams scored behind some good blocking. The final TD was scared on a long screen pass, Luke Arnold to Connor Kish. The team will close out the season next Wednesday at home vs Blissfield.

Good Luck to the XC team as they will be running at the Sand Creek Invite at 4:30.
