7th Grade Youth in Government will meet today during lunch in Mr. Lilienthal's room. Bring your lunch.
8th grade and 7th grade Youth in Government will meet on Tuesdays during lunch beginning next week.
The Onsted Girls were runners-up, receiving a trophy with 6 runners medaling. Stylar Ross finished in 3rd place, followed by Samarah Huffman in 8th. Ella Arnold and Lily Louden finished back-to-back in 14th and 15th. Lily James ran hard, breaking her seasonal best time and finishing out the scoring for the
Wildcats. Adelynn McConeghy won a medal, and Cara Campo also broke her seasonal best time.
The Onsted Boys fought hard for their 5th place, with 4 runners medaling. Zander Springer finished in 10th place. Kolton Turbeville sprinted toward the finish for 20th, followed by Noah Jackson finishing in 23rd place. Carter Elliott broke his personal best time and received a medal for his great effort. Tyler Hosler finished the scoring for the Onsted Boys, and Justin Kirchner broke his personal best time.
Great job, Wildcats!
Next up for the Onsted MS Cross Country team is a meet in Jackson at Ella Sharp Park with 22 other teams on Friday.
Last night, the 7th grade volleyball team gave quite the performance, defeating the Hillsdale Hornets in three sets, taking home the W! The Wildcats came ready to play, taking control early in the first set, finishing 25-16, and rallying through the second set, finishing 25-19. The Wildcats clinched the third set with a score of 25-13, closing out the match. Lilly Pliska and Karis Brogan lead the team in serving, scoring 12 service points each, followed by Sofia Teske with 10 service points and Macie Lover with 6 service points. This victory was a team effort... and it's just the beginning! Go cats!
The 8th grade Volleyball Team had their 2nd match of the season Monday night at home against Hillsdale, with each set being close. Both teams fought hard, and at the end of the night the Ladycats came out on top 27-26, 25-20, and 25-22. Scoring service points were Paige Mathis, Ellie Cannon, Brielle Ross, Delaynie Rumsey, Pieper Chamberlain, & Paisley Murphy. The next match will be at home on Monday.
If you are an athlete, if you are a spiritual person, if you are looking for a place to belong, FCA may be for you. FCA Huddles will begin meeting this Wednesday during lunches. 7th grade in Mr. Howland's classroom and 8th grade in Mrs. Smith's math classroom. (6th graders...we didn't forget you. Your first meeting will be sometime after camp. Listen to announcements for further information.) Hope to see you there.
Onsted Homecoming is next week. To celebrate, OMS will be having "Travel Around the World" spirit days. Help support the Wildcats by participating. Spirit day themes are:
Monday: Airport Day...wear your comfiest clothes.
Tuesday: Souvenir Day...wear your favorite souvenir or tourist outfit.
Wednesday: Tropical Day...dress for tropical weather.
Thursday: Air Traffic Control Day...wear your NEON.
Friday: School Colors Day...wear your Onsted gear.
Remember, all spirit week attire must meet the school dress code.
