Onsted Middle School Announcements, ThursdayOctober 6, 2022

The 8th grade Volleyball Team played host to the Columbia Central Eagles Wednesday night. The Eagles came out strong in set one, and the cats were not able to respond dropping 5-25. In set two, the cats fought back and overpowered the Eagles 25-19. In the final set, the cats came up short with the Eagles leading 25-14 for a match win to close the night. Scoring points were Annie Moore, Ruby Helinski, Lauren Terakedis, Ella Ruttkofsky, Hadley Ross, Kayla Gerken, & Avery Hively.  
The 7th girls played a competitive first game and won 26-24. The cats dropped the second set 10-25 then came back and won the last set 25-21. The teams did great and heads to their first tournament this Saturday at Michigan Center!

The Onsted MS XCountry team ran hard and motivated against the best teams in the LCAA at The Riverbend Church in Tecumseh.
The Onsted Boys finished 3rd overall. Elijah Hoffman, Nicklas Holmes, Wesley Garrison, Garrett Smith, Chris Durfey, Alex Hunt, and Jack Tessier all sprinted downhill on a hilly course to finish in the top 25. Those who broke personal bests were Jack Tessier and Xander Lewis. Justus Cunningham finished with a new seasonal best time of 15:53.
The Onsted Girls finished 5th overall. Izzy Raglow, Alana Ramsey, and Mattie Hallenbeck all finished in the top 25. Rounding out the top 5 Onsted Girl's finishers were Jaelyn Gwinner placing 32nd and setting a new seasonal best time, and Chloe Gemalsky finishing in 36th place.
Next up for the Onsted MS XCountry team is a big meet on Saturday with 38 teams at the Hudson Booster Invite.

The 8th grade FB team defeated Ida tonight 39-0. TD's were scored by Bryce Adams, Connor Kish and Zach Taylor. Kaden Middle ditch added an extra point conversion. The defense was led by Adams, Damien Walker, Nolan Rumsey, Sean Symington, Kish,Brennan Wonders and Carson Garrison. The team travels to Clinton next Wednesday.

Attention MATH 6 students! Please bring your calculators to class Thursday and Friday. You will need them to help you with our lesson. Thank you! Mrs. Marsh
