Youth in Government will meet today during lunch. 7th grade go to Mr. Lilienthal's room and 8th grade go to Ms. Sherman's. Everyone needs to be registered by Thursday. 

Book Fair is next week! 6th graders will go to it during your ELA class. 7th Graders on Wednesday and 8th Graders on Thursday. 

The 7th grade volleyball team traveled to Dundee last night to take on the Vikings. The wildcats struggled to find momentum, dropping the first set 12-25 and the second set 11-25. Your lady cats then came back to take the third set with a 25-19 win. Karis Brogan contributed to the success of the wildcats with lots of hustle and some great saves. Good job cats!

The 8th grade Volleyball team traveled to Dundee Monday night to meet the Vikings and were dealt a match loss 22-25, 7-25, and 13-25.  Scoring service points were Ellie Cannon, Delaynie Rumsey, Paige Mathis, Paisley Murphy, Piper Chamberlain, and Brielle Ross.  Their next match will be at Hudson on Wednesday.

Exciting News: Do you enjoy playing chess or want to learn how? The Onsted Middle School Chess Club is starting up soon! Players of all skill levels are welcome - whether you're brand new to the game or already a seasoned player. The club will meet on Wednesday's from 3:00-4:15 in the OMS cafeteria. The chess club is open to all OMS students.

Exciting News: Do you enjoy playing chess or want to learn how? The Onsted Middle School Chess Club is starting up soon! Players of all skill levels are welcome - whether you're brand new to the game or already a seasoned player. The club will meet on Wednesday's from 3:00-4:15 in the OMS cafeteria. The chess club is open to all OMS students.

If you're interested, pick up an application from Mr. Lilienthal. Applications are due by Wednesday, October 8. Don't miss out on this fun opportunity to learn new skills, make friends, and challenge your mind.

The Onsted MS Cross Country team ran on another hot day for a meet at Stockbridge, with half the team establishing new personal best times.
For the Girls, Stylar Ross performed tremendously placing 14th and receiving a top 25 medal. Lily Louden, Ella Arnold, and Mattison Ruttkofsky not only scored for Onsted, but also broke personal records. Samarah Huffman fought hard, battling through some strong runners, finishing up the scoring for the Lady Wildcats. Also breaking a personal best time was Lillian James, breaking her time by 40 seconds. Overall, the Lady Wildcats finished in 4th place out of 28 teams.
For the Boys, Noah Jackson finished just outside the medal podium in 27th place, but finished with a new personal best time. Zander Springer finished just behind his teammate, finishing in 30th out of 163 runners in the boys race. Tyler Hosler also finished with a new personal best record, with a 28 seconds faster improvement from the last meet. Finishing up the scoring for the Boys were Carter Elliott and Carter Holtzbauer, and breaking personal records were Justin Kirchner and Rosson Sutherland. Nice job, Cats!
Next up is our 2nd LCAA Jamboree at Riverbend Friends Church in Clinton on Wednesday.

Today will be a busy afternoon here. Many of you will participate in the parade, and our first priority after school is getting bus riders home safely. Students waiting to join the parade must stay off the blacktop until buses leave, then move to their designated areas. You will not be allowed to stay in the middle school after school. Students this is a reminder, you will be representing OMS at the game and are expected to be Respectful, Responsible, and Resilient. Attending as a spectator is a privilege.

🏐 7/8th Grade Volleyball The 7th grade volleyball team traveled to Madison last night and returned home victorious! The wildcats went to work right away, securing the match early with set scores of 25-21 and 25-12. Leading scorers for the wildcats were Sofia Teske with 16 service points, Fiona Anderson with 10 service points, and McKenzie Dickinson with 9 service points. A good win to closeout homecoming week! Good jobs cats!. The 8th grade Volleyball  took 1 of 3 sets on the night with giving the Trojans a match win. Top servers were Ellie Cannon, Paisley Murphy, & Brielle Ross.  Others scoring were Pieper Chamberlain, Trenity Riggs, Delaynie Rumsey, & Paige Mathis.

Next Monday the teams will travel to Dundee to take on the Vikings.
