   OMS Announcements, Wednesday, November 27, 2024

The 7th grade boys got back into the win column with a back and forth clash against Hillsdale. Kellen Kimbrell led the team with a double-double highlighted by 13 points and a game winning buzzer beater. Brycen Lamb orchestrated the offense beautifully and led the team in assists. Trammell Valasek played an outstanding game defensively and locked up the opposing teams best player. Eli Bartha and Josh Rosenthal were major contributors on both ends of the floor. Nate Gust, Zander Springer, and Levi Cabla continue to work hard and play great team basketball. Great team win.

Onsted 8th grade boys basketball lost a tough away game at Hillsdale in overtime by 8 points. Leading scorers for Onsted were Jacob Hill and Alex Hunt with 12 points each and both knocking down two 3 pointers. Dustin Six played tough defense denying the ball to opponent’s best player and scoring 2 points.

Teachers:  Please number and distribute your teams' shirts using the size list that was left with your shirts.  Use that shirt list to take attendance and send attendance with any unclaimed shirts to Mrs. Smith (in her classroom) as soon as possible. Check your email for the correct link for the survey that you are sharing with your Wildcat Team.

The 7th grade Wildcats came up short against Ida. Kellen Kimbrell led the ‘Cats on the offensive glass and in scoring. Tate Theisen, Jovani Fedd and Brycen Lamb were also contributors on the offensive end. Nate Gust, Trammell Valasek and Levi Cabla were disruptive and scrappy on defense. Josh Rosenthal and Abel Kopka did a great job protecting the paint.

The Onsted 8th grade boys basketball team beat Ida at home by 2 points.  We got up to a double digit lead and just held on in the 4th quarter.  Jacob Hill led all scorers with 15 points and several assists.  Alex Moore and Brenden Cannon switched off giving us solid offense and high energy on defense.  John Pfeffer played tough defense, caused turnovers, hustled, and gathered several rebounds.  

Good Luck to both Boys Basketball teams. They are traveling to Hillsdale.

Today is National Substitute Educators Day.  OMS would like to thank all of our substitutes that help out in our building! We have one sub in our building today, Mr. Lee.

Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.The Toys for Tots box is located in the entrance of the middle school. Please send in a new, unopened toy for a donation. 

Wear a HAT for $1.00: This Friday, Nov. 22. The Kiwanis Builders Club will be having a hat day to raise money for the stockings for students fundraiser which goes to students in the middle school. Even if you don't wear a hat, donations are always appreciated. 

Your Student Voice team will be selling suckers during lunches on Fridays  Caramel Apple suckers will be $0.50 and Color Exploder suckers will be $1.00.  

Seventh grade boys played very competitively against a talented Madison group. Eli Bartha lead the wildcats in scoring. He shot well from the outside and attacked the basket. Kellen Kimbrell and Abel Kopka also played well on the offensive side. Jovani Fedd and Josh Rosenthal played fantastic helpside defense. Zander Springer and Trammell Valasek played with a lot of heart!

The 8th grade boys basketball team beat Madison at home by 5 points. Alex Hunt led all scorers with 14 points, including knocking down three 3 pointers. Owen Gemalsky scored 8 points and played tough defense. Jacob Hill scored 7 points, including two 3 pointers. Mason Jacobs-Lowe played aggressive defense and scored 6 points. Elijah Hall had solid point guard play, scored 6 points, including a three pointer.

Today's announcements are by Noah Jackson

Onsted 8th grade pulled out a tough road game at Dundee by 5 points.  It was a great team effort playing under control breaking Dundee’s press   Jacob Hill led all scorers with 13 points including a three pointer.  Alex Hunt scored 9 points, made a three pointer, and made 2!clutch free throws to ice the game.  Auden Pliska scored a point, got several rebounds, and  played lock down defense.  Dustin Six also scored 2 points and played intense defense causing turnovers. 

7th grade dropped their matchup against Dundee. Leading scorers were Tate Theisen, Levi Cabla, Trammell Valasek. Zander Springer played smart defense and hustled all around the floor. Jovani Fedd and Eli Bartha were scrappy and produced a number of steals.
